About Us

Introduction of Sushila Care:

Sushila Care and Service Centre (SCSC) is named after the founder, Bhuwan Parajuliís late mother Sushila, who passed away when Bhuwan was three years old and his sister was seven months old. SCSC is a non-profit social service organization. SCSC came into operation on the 1st of September 2003 when a three-storied building was rented in Gathaghar, Bhakatapur, Nepal. Within two months of its opening the centre was home to twelve orphans. At present, there are five children with ages ranging from thirteen to eighteen years old. Prior to this, 14 children have been raised and re-established in the community. Apart from that, SCSC supported a few poor family children for their school and college fees.

The inspiration of Sushila Care:

The inspiration for Sushila Care came to founder Bhuwan Parajuli after the sudden death of his mother when he was still an infant. He longed for tender loving care during his formative years and can easily identify with the struggles faced by other motherless children. Thus, this care centre was born as an expression of societyís solidarity to other orphans by showing them that they are not alone as well as a salute to the honors owed to motherhood in society.

Orphanage Centre for Education

Our primary mission and work has been helping orphan children with their basic needs such as food, shelter, education and unconditional love and support. We provide a loving home for orphaned and abandoned children with parental care for their holistic development including physical, intellectual and emotional wellbeing in a loving and safe environment, and also a secure and independent future. Our plan is to provide them home, shelter and education.

Carrier Internship

Any national and international personality can provide the volunteer service in Sushila Careís orphanage centre. It is a good opportunity for volunteers to learn about the children and their past difficult life. At the same time they can learn about Nepal and Nepalís societies as well.

Around the World 2020

Founder Mr. Bhuwan Parajuli had planned to start the Around the World on a motorcycle for fundraising program in 2013 but due to reason he couldnít start in 2013 and the mission is still pending. There is a video in which Mr. Bhuwan explains the reasons as to why the mission is still pending.

In Around the World mission he is planning to cross around 65 countries of around 90 thousand km drive. The purpose of this mission is to raise awareness among people about the situation of orphaned children around the world and their life and death situation. Apart from that the Around the World mission will also aid in raising the funds to build a home and school for the orphan children of Nepal.

Mission and Objectives

Our primary mission and work has been helping orphan children with their basic needs such as food, shelter, education and unconditional love and support. We provide a loving home for orphan and abandoned children with parental care for their holistic development including physical, intellectual and emotional wellbeing in a loving and safe environment, and a secure and independent future.

Muthi Daan

Before cooking meal in our every day our contribution take a fist of rice which is collected in a bucket. We started Muthi Daan from 2006. Every month we used to collect around 50 kg rice. We stopped collecting the muthi Daan from 2014 because of having hard time to collecting from door to door. Our special thanks goes to Mithu Devi Sapkota for devoting her time to collect Muthi Daan from door to door. Now in 2019 she is 85 years old.

Future Plan

We are planning to build a home and school for the children in Sushila Care. Our first priority is a home. During these 16 years we have already moved to few renting homes. Itís always hard to move with children and the centreís materials from one home to another home and is costly as well. And the rent is increasing every other year. Therefore, we are planning to build our home outside of Kathmandu valley, where the children could get a fresh environment and the cost of land is much cheaper compared to Kathmandu valley. We also can grow vegetables for our daily needs. To run orphanage outside valley is financially low cost compared to Kathmandu valley. We also can enhance together with the less developed society in the awareness of social values, education etc.

Around the World 2020

Founder message for Around the World

I believe that Around the World is just a small candlelight; it can not give light to the entire world but I believe that it will help give life and happiness to a few of the children who are living in darkness between life and death. I believe that the entire world is home to all beings (including non-humans). All human beings have equal rights to live in this world with food and shelter. Especially those children who have lost their parents and have no one to care for them, those who are living in a street with an empty stomach and without any clothes or a shelter. In 2016 I saw a picture article, where hundreds of dead childrens bodies were found on a counter in Thailand.  According to the investigation they wear exported from different poor countries and their organs wear taken out, such as kidneys, eyes etc. The real meaning of humanity would be to save even one of these children. Every movement in this world many children are suffering from through this type of pain. Is not it our duty to help those children who are suffering from hunger, lack of shelter, sickness and through that mentioned above? If we want to better the world where we are living and like to leave better world to our children then start to share the love to all human beings. Lets make a wide picture of our life by thinking about how to help others; if I earn this much amount, I will separate this much for those who are needed. Provide love to other mines that you are receiving love from other as well.

In Around the world I don not have to say lot. I only say give love and receive love. What you give to other, you will get same from other as well. Forget about nationality, colors, rich, poor etc. Learn to see everyone as human and be a human.

Although, my plan was to start Around the World mission in 2013, but due to few problems mentioned below my hands were tied and I was not able to move towards my Around the World mission.  In 2011, I left my job where I was working as a supervisor and went to sell the land in Nepal. During that time the orphanage centre had been running for ten years; those days I was already carrying more than Can $ 60,000.00 loan to run the orphanage centre. And I was paying very interest with I brought from Nepal and the amount that I withdraw from my credit cards.

My sample plan was the property, which I got from the court, which was in my name in the prime centre in Koteshwor, Kathmandu, was worth of around NRS 30,000,000.00 (at that time equivalent to around Canadian $ 400,000.00). After paying all my dues still I will have more than Canadian $ 300,000.00 on my hand. Of around $ 50,000.00 I had planned to buy land outside Kathmandu valley for NGO. And Around the World could be the good source to raise funds to build home on that land and school in same area as well. To sell around half of property it took me around a year because some people were behind me so I couldn not sell my land on time. There is a long story; some people enjoy giving others trouble. I sold less than half my property in 2012 and rest in 2013 in the half price of actual value. During that stay in Nepal I my loan doubled because I do not have any way to get income to run the orphanage centre, my expense, interest of the amount that I brought etc.

Today I went to the same position that I was in 2011.  From 2013 to 2019 in 6 years time I have lone of around Canadian $ 50,000.00. Now I have just one home left in Calgary, Canada where we have down payment of $ 33,000.00. That money we got from when we sold our townhouse of temple and $ 10,000.00 from one of my friend of Calgary. If we could found the regular source to run the centre then, then I could start to pay off my lone. For those rest children who are in centre I have to give another 4 years for their settlement.

Why I am doing so, because those children who lost their parents and have nothing and no one to care for them their pain is way higher than my pain. I have thrown the snow in very cold weather while I was in Toronto for 14, 15 hours and used to deliver paper at 5 in the morning and worked in a company carrying heavy king size mattresses. When I moved to Calgary I am working hard just to give good life to those children who do not have anyone to care for them. I always enjoy of all those hard works that I have done and still doing, because I am doing for some good reason. Because of my incomplete mission of Around the World is because of just my situation. I still have same courage that I had in 2011, if God wants me to complete that mission definitely I will do it.  This year in July, I am planning to do just around Alberta motorcycle fundraising tour.

My appeal to all you good people, if you think that Sushila Care is doing a good deed in the society then please start to donate monthly; any amount is helpful. You can go to our website www.sushila-orphanage.org and donate monthly or one time. We have got space for another 15 children. But due to not having regular support we were not able to help other children who need it. I would like to personally thank all those who have helped Sushila Care or any other charitable organization from bottom of my heart. If someone hasnít found the place to donate Sushila Care could be the one as well. All charitable organizations belong to we human beings. I will welcome you all who want to help orphan children through Sushila Care with an open heart. Lets work together to wipe the tears from those eyes, those who are seriously waiting for our help and love.  As soon as we start to get donations we will send received donation amount details, expenses details and progress reports as well from time to time.  Our small help can save someone's life.
